Note: This is an Adobe Premiere Pro tutorial but our 2D animated video effects are able to be used in multiple editing programs, like Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas, and DaVinci Resolve. Get in touch if you have any questions about compatibility.
Purchase and download the2D FX pack from the CinePacks store and unzip the files. Drag them directly into Adobe Premiere Pro. There are two folders containing multiple animated video effects that you’ll receive when you get this pack; go ahead and drag them straight into Adobe Premiere Pro.
Drag your chosen video effect into your timeline above your footage. (We chose the animated health bar for our first example.) Scale and reposition as desired. Add a frame hold by right-clicking your clip if you would like the effect to freeze in motion for any period of time. Duplicate the video animation effect as many times as needed so the effect fits the timing of your footage.
To use the 2D animation accents, drag them directly into your timeline and scale/reposition as needed. To change the color of these video effects, you can use either Tint or Color Balance HLS (under Video Effects → Color Correction) and adjust the sliders until you achieve your desired color.
To animate any of our video effects, use the keyframes to track its movement across your screen.
Use the flashes and impact animations to further enhance the action happening on your screen! You can customize these video effects however you’d like by changing the size, position, color, and movement; you can also apply the Horizontal or Vertical Flip effect (under Video Effects → Transform) wherever needed. Use the Rate Stretch tool to speed up or slow down a certain animation.
