How to Use Our Free Letter Video Effects in DaVinci Resolve
These free video effects have transparency built in so you can simply drag and drop them into your timeline. Go to the Color tab and adjust the Hue if you want to change the color of any of these video effects.
To make a custom animated title, grab a solid looping background and drag into your timeline. Hold down Alt, select your clip, and drag to duplicate the looping video to make it longer. (For some of these looping animations, you might need to cut the middle looping portion of the video and duplicate the middle clip to obtain a smooth looping video.)
Animating letters to create a title sequence is a fun process because these effects are so readily customizable. Drag the letters you want into your timeline on top of each other. Select each layer to move each letter around as desired.
You can make your letters pop into your screen using keyframes. Select one of your letters and place a keyframe at its first frame. Move it offscreen. Then reposition the letter on your screen and add another keyframe so it animates into view. (You can also click the keyframe button on your clip in the timeline to easily adjust your keyframes as needed.)
To clean up your timeline, select all your layers, right click, and select New Compound Clip. Once all the layers have been combined into one clip, navigate to your Effects library and search for Stop Motion. Add it to your compound clip. Then under your Advanced Options on the right, adjust the Frame Repeat to 10 to make the effect more dramatic. You can also add the Camera Shake Effect from your Effects library to give it even more of an edgy look.
Animate the title out by duplicating the compound clip, selecting the copied clip, right clicking, and selecting Change Clip Speed and then checking the box next to Reverse Clip Speed. That will invert the two clips so the first one will animate into the screen and the second one will animate out of the screen.
